Collectin 43 Antibody (2F3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Collectin 43 protein of bovine origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Collectin 43 antibody (2F3) is available as a non-conjugated format. Collectin 43, also known as CL-43, is a C-type serum lectin that plays a crucial role in the innate immune response of cattle, acting as an effector molecule against various pathogens, including viruses, fungi, and bacteria. Collectin 43 is primarily synthesized in the liver and is composed of three identical chains, each featuring a collagen region and a C-type carbohydrate recognition domain, which is essential for function. Collectin 43′s ability to bind to mannan in a calcium-dependent manner is significant, as this facilitates the aggregation of microbial particles, thereby enhancing phagocytosis through specific receptors on phagocytes. Collectin 43 has two isoforms: the native form and a truncated variant, which may exhibit different functional properties. Variability in serum levels of Collectin 43 has been associated with various diseases in cattle, highlighting potential use as a biomarker for health status in bovine populations.
