AATK Antibody (145J2G) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects AATK in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). AATK, also known as apoptosis-associated tyrosine kinase or LMR1 (lemur tyrosine kinase 1), is a single-pass type I membrane protein primarily localized in the brain, where AATK plays a pivotal role in neuronal differentiation and apoptosis. AATK functions within death activation pathways, which are essential for regulating neuronal apoptosis—a critical process that helps minimize brain damage and supports proper neural development. AATK exhibits in vitro kinase activity and features a proline-rich domain at its C-terminus along with a tyrosine kinase domain at its N-terminus, which are crucial for enzymatic functions. Three isoforms of AATK arise from alternative splicing events, allowing for diverse regulatory roles in cellular signaling. AATK monoclonal antibody (145J2G) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of apoptosis and neuronal health, providing insights into the complex interplay of signaling pathways in the brain.
