SEE ALSO...

SAA Antibody (SAA14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects serum amyloid A (SAA) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-SAA antibody (SAA14) targets a crucial protein that plays a significant role in the acute-phase response, acting as a major acute-phase protein secreted by the liver during inflammatory conditions and microbial infections. SAA monoclonal antibody (SAA14) recognizes a protein essential for modulating the immune response and facilitating the clearance of pathogens, making SAA a key player in the body′s defense mechanisms. SAA is predominantly found in the high-density lipoprotein (HDL) fraction of plasma, where SAA contributes to lipid metabolism and transport. Notably, SAA is also a precursor to amyloid A protein, which is implicated in the development of reactive amyloidosis, a condition characterized by the accumulation of amyloid fibrils in tissues. SAA (SAA14) antibody′s ability to effectively detect and quantify SAA levels can provide valuable insights into various inflammatory diseases and conditions associated with amyloid deposition, underscoring SAA′s importance in both research and clinical diagnostics.

I am using SAA (SAA14): sc-52214 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
