Ribosomal Protein L22 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ribosomal Protein L22 (RPL22) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RPL22 antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPL22, also known as heparin-binding protein HBp15, plays a crucial role in ribosome assembly and function, being involved in heparin binding in the submandibular gland and brain. RPL22 associates with two small nuclear RNAs called EBERs (Epstein-Barr encoded RNAs), produced in large quantities by human B lymphocytes infected with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). RPL22′s structure features a globular domain that interacts with the large ribosomal subunit and an extended loop that penetrates its core, making contact with multiple domains of 23S rRNA. This interaction suggests a potential role in rRNA folding during ribosomal assembly, essential for proper ribosome function in protein synthesis.
