Reveromycin C is a natural product antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces culture broths along with Reveromycins A (sc-202314), B (sc-202315), and D (sc-202317). Reveromycin C is described to inhibit mitogenic activity in response to epidermal growth factor (EGF) with potency comparable to Reveromycins A and D (IC50 = 0.7~1.1 μg/ml) in Balb/MK cells. Inhibition of EGF function by Reveromycins is correlated to an antiproliferative effect.
