O anticorpo RARα (C-1) é um anticorpo monoclonal de cadeia leve IgG1 kappa de camundongo especificamente concebido para detetar o recetor alfa do ácido retinóico (RARα), também conhecido como RARA ou NR1B1. O anticorpo monoclonal RARα (C-1) tem como alvo um epítopo interno que abrange os aminoácidos 63-362 da proteína RARα humana, assegurando uma ligação precisa e fiável em várias espécies, incluindo o camundongo, o rato e o ser humano. O RARα é um fator de transcrição nuclear crucial localizado no núcleo da célula, onde o RARα medeia os efeitos do ácido retinóico, um metabolito vital da vitamina A essencial para a regulação da expressão de genes envolvidos na diferenciação, proliferação e apoptose celular. O funcionamento correto do RARα é imperativo para o desenvolvimento dos vertebrados e para a manutenção da homeostase dos tecidos, e a desregulação do RARα está intimamente associada a várias doenças, nomeadamente a leucemia promielocítica aguda (LPA). Na LPA, uma translocação cromossómica funde o gene RARα com o gene PML, dando origem à proteína de fusão oncogénica PML/RARα, que perturba as vias apoptóticas normais e interrompe a diferenciação mieloide. O anticorpo RARα (C-1) tem um desempenho eficaz em western blotting (WB), imunoprecipitação (IP), imunofluorescência (IF) e ensaio de imunoabsorção enzimática (ELISA). Isto faz do anticorpo anti-RARα (C-1) uma ferramenta indispensável para os investigadores que estudam as vias de sinalização RARα e o seu papel nos mecanismos das doenças.

Does this antibody work for Chromatin Immunoprecipitation?

Thank you for your question. RARα/Retinoic Acid Receptor α Antibody (C-1) is recommended for detection of RARα of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. RARa antibody(C-1) also can recognize RARa when bound to PML in the PML-RARa complex? RARa antibody(C-20) would be better (always for WB)?

Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have any results showing whether this complex would cause steric hindrance preventing binding of the antibody. We cannot say whether or not the target would be efficiently recognized. RARα/Retinoic Acid Receptor α Antibody (C-1): sc-515796 is available in sample size, so you could get in touch with our technical service team to arrange for a sample of the antibody.

I used this on mice liver tissue total proteins western blot but I get two bands around 52 and another band around 37. I would like to know if there is anything to fix it?

Thank you for your question. The expected molecular weight for this protein is ~52kDa, but we do not have any information regarding a lower sized band. Please contact our Technical Service Department or your local distributor for assistance in troubleshooting this antibody.

I would like to use this antibody for IHC(p) using DAB. May you recommend a secundary antibody?

Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections and so IHC(P) is not a recommended application at this time. RARα Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1. For IHC(P), we recommend using a secondary antibody that is anti-mouse IgG or anti-mouse IgG1. For immunoperoxidase staining with DAB as the substrate, we would recommend using either our Mouse IgG Binding Protein conjugated to HRP, m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102, or our Mouse IgG Binding Protein conjugated to Biotin, m-IgGκ BP-B: sc-516142 in combination with our ImmunoCruz® ABC Kit: sc-516216 for signal amplification.

Can this antibody be used for ChiP assays in mouse? Is there a reference for the same? Do I need to order a more concentrated form of the antibody for that purpose?

Can RARα Antibody ( (C-1): sc-515796) be used in  immunohistochemistry staining of human tissue

Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this mouse monoclonal antibody, RARα (C-1): sc-515796 on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues and so this application is not recommended at this time. We do warranty the antibody for use in IF, or immunofluorescent staining of fresh or frozen tissues or cells fixed in acetone or methanol. However, we do not yet have any data in this application to show on our website. As soon as IHC or IF data is available, we will publish it on our website. We do currently offer one other antibody to this target, RARα (1C10): sc-293417. However, this antibody has also not yet been tested for immunohistochemistry. For a limited time, we are offering a free 10µg sample of RARα (C-1): sc-515796. Thank you for your question. RARα Antibody (C-1): sc-515796 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that is specific for RARα of mouse, rat and human origin. It is not expected to cross-react with RARβ or RARγ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great!I received this as a free sample. I used it at a 1:1000 dilution, and the secondary GAM at 1:1000 dilution on mouse and rat liver homogenates that were run on a 8% gel transferred to nitrocellulose membrane. The antibody was very clean with very little background.
