MKP-3 Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MKP-3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MKP-3, a member of the dual specificity phosphatase family, plays a crucial role in regulating mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase signaling pathways by specifically dephosphorylating critical phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues within ERK family members. This regulation is vital as it helps maintain cellular homeostasis and modulates responses to various stimuli, including growth factors and stress signals. MKP-3 expression is particularly prominent in the heart and pancreas, highlighting its importance in tissues that require precise control of signaling pathways for proper function. Additionally, MKP-3 is encoded by a gene located on chromosome 12q22-q23, producing a 381 amino acid protein that is essential for the negative regulation of MAP kinases, thereby influencing a range of physiological processes. Anti-MKP-3 antibody (G-11) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate dynamics of MAP kinase signaling and its implications in health and disease.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with MKP-3 (G-11): sc-137245 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
