Ly-6D Antibody (RGRSL 114.8.1) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Ly-6D in mouse samples through flow cytometry (FCM). Ly-6D, also known as E48 antigen, is a 128 amino acid glycoprotein predominantly expressed in squamous cell carcinoma cell lines and squamous cell epithelial tissues. Ly-6D plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and migration, particularly in head and neck cancers, where upregulation is associated with poor prognosis. Ly-6D contains a signal peptide, two theoretical phosphorylation sites, and three putative myristoylation sites, which are important for function and localization within the cell. These post-translational modifications can influence stability and interactions with other cellular components. Research has indicated that Ly-6D may regulate expression levels of specific fucosylated E-selectin ligands and protein FX, which is essential for GDP-L-fucose synthesis. This suggests that Ly-6D could play a significant role in modulating tumor cell adhesion to inflamed vessel walls expressing E-selectin, thereby impacting tumor progression and metastasis. Anti-Ly-6D antibody (RGRSL 114.8.1) serves as an invaluable tool for studying molecular mechanisms underlying head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and potential therapeutic targets.
