Ly-6C Antibody (ER-MP20) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Ly-6C in mouse samples through applications such as immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Ly-6C antibody (ER-MP20) recognizes a 131 amino acid protein that belongs to the Ly-6 family of glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins, characterized by a distinctive cysteine-rich domain containing O-linked carbohydrates. Ly-6C plays a crucial role in immune response, particularly in CD8 T cell activation and regulation, which are essential for targeting and eliminating infected or malignant cells. Ly-6C (ER-MP20) monoclonal antibody detects proteins predominantly expressed on murine peripheral CD8 T cells, involved in endothelial adhesion, cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activity, and production of key cytokines like interleukin-2 and interferon-gamma. Ly-6C may function as a signaling molecule enhancing lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1) activation, facilitating CD8 T cell migration and homing to inflammation or infection sites. Unique expression patterns of Ly-6C during hematopoiesis and specific presence on leukocyte subpopulations highlight its importance in normal immune function and potential therapeutic applications.
