LAMP-2 Antibody (4E152) is a rat monoclonal IgG antibody raised against purified mouse liver lysosomal membranes, with species reactivity specific to mouse. LAMP-2 (4E152) monoclonal antibody is validated for western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). LAMP-2, also known as CD107B, is a glycosylated type I transmembrane protein localized to lysosomal membranes, where LAMP-2 is critical for lysosomal function and cellular homeostasis. LAMP-2 plays a key role in autophagy by facilitating the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes, enabling the degradation and recycling of cellular components. LAMP-2 also maintains lysosomal integrity and acidity, protecting the membrane from autodigestion by lysosomal enzymes. LAMP-2 is synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum, glycosylated in the Golgi apparatus, and transported to lysosomes via a pathway distinct from clathrin-coated vesicles. LAMP-2′s functional importance extends to processes like cellular adhesion and intracellular trafficking, and dysregulation of LAMP-2 is linked to lysosomal storage disorders such as Danon disease. By studying LAMP-2, researchers can gain insights into lysosomal dynamics, autophagy, and their implications in health and disease. Anti-LAMP-2 antibody (4E152) is a valuable tool for investigating LAMP-2′s role in maintaining lysosomal and cellular function.
