ITI-H4 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ITI-H4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ITI-H4 (G-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The inter-α-trypsin inhibitor (ITI) family, to which ITI-H4 belongs, consists of structurally related plasma serine protease inhibitors synthesized in the liver, comprising different combinations of three highly homologous heavy chains (ITI-HI, ITI-H2, and ITI-H3) and one light chain, Bikunin. ITI-H4 features a proline-rich region (PRR) at its C-terminus, which is significant for protein interactions. The ITI family is primarily composed of multi-polypeptide molecules, but ITI-H4 is unique as a single-chain molecule. The heavy chains of the ITI family, known as serum-derived hyaluronan-associated proteins (SHAPs), bind covalently to hyaluronic acid, contributing to the stabilization of the pericellular matrix, which is crucial for maintaining tissue integrity and regulating cellular behavior. The gene transcription and products of rat and human ITI-H4 exhibit marked differences, indicating potential species-specific functions that may influence physiological and pathological processes. The gene encoding human ITI-H4 is located on chromosome 3p21.1, highlighting its relevance in genetic studies and potential implications in disease mechanisms.
