E2F-1 Antibody (KH95) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets E2F-1, a key transcription factor involved in the regulation of cell cycle progression. E2F-1 monoclonal antibody (KH95) is raised against amino acids 342-386 of human E2F-1 and is reactive with E2F-1 from human, mouse, and rat sources, making it suitable for a variety of applications, including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC). E2F-1 is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors, which includes E2F-2, E2F-3, E2F-4, E2F-5, E2F-6, and E2F-7, all of which regulate genes critical for the G1 and S phases of the cell cycle. E2F-1 forms functional heterodimers with DP-1, and this complex drives the expression of genes that promote cell cycle progression and DNA replication. E2F-1 is particularly important in regulating the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase, and E2F-1 activity is tightly controlled by interactions with the retinoblastoma protein (Rb). Rb binding inhibits E2F-1 transcriptional activity, preventing the expression of cell cycle genes until appropriate signals trigger Rb inactivation, a process often disrupted in cancer. E2F-1 plays a critical role in both normal cell cycle control and in the dysregulation of cell proliferation seen in various malignancies. E2F-1 monoclonal antibody (KH95) is valuable for studies examining the role of E2F-1 in cell cycle regulation and its involvement in cancer research, as well as in understanding the broader E2F/Rb signaling network.
