1,2-Dimyristoyl-rac-glycerol (DMPG) is a synthetic amphiphilic molecule used in biochemistry and cell biology to study membrane proteins and their interactions with other molecules. It may act to increase the permeability of cell membranes, which can lead to increased cell growth and proliferation. 1,2-Dimyristoyl-rac-glycerol can also increase the activity of certain enzymes, as well as modulate the activity of certain receptors and proteins.
