QUICK LINKS

Zanamivir is an influenza viral neuraminidase inhibitor that is a structural analog of the sialic acid. By inhibiting the neuraminidase enzyme of the influenza virus, zanamivir hinders the virus′s release from infected cells, thereby limiting its spread to other cells. This mechanism of action plays a role in preventing the spread of the virus throughout the body.
