Vaccinia Virus Antibody (8115) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the Vaccinia Virus protein of Vaccinia virus origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Vaccinia Virus antibody (8115) is available as the non-conjugated format. Vaccinia Virus (8115) antibody plays a crucial role in studying the Vaccinia Virus, which belongs to the poxvirus family and contains double-stranded DNA. Historically, Vaccinia Virus was instrumental in the eradication of smallpox, making it a significant subject of research. The protein encoded by the Vaccinia Virus A27L gene is particularly important as it facilitates viral entry into host cells through fusion. This fusion protein is essential for the microtubule-dependent transport of intracellular mature virus particles and is involved in the envelopment process that leads to the formation of intracellular enveloped virus particles. The N-terminus of this protein has a specific affinity for heparan sulfate on the cell surface, allowing interaction with the negatively charged sulfates of glycosaminoglycans. Vaccinia Virus (8115) monoclonal antibody not only aids in neutralizing Vaccinia Virus infections but also helps identify other viral and cellular proteins integral to viral entry, thereby enhancing understanding of viral pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targets.
