URG4 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects URG4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). URG4 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. URG4, also known as up-regulated gene 4 or URGCP (upregulator of cell proliferation), is a 931 amino acid protein located in both nucleus and cytoplasm, with significant expression in Hepatitis B virus-infected liver, hepatocellular carcinoma cells, and well-differentiated gastric cancer tissues. URG4 plays a pivotal role in cell cycle progression by regulating cyclin D1 expression, which is crucial for transition from G1 phase to S phase of cell cycle. This regulation influences cellular proliferation and survival, making URG4 a key player in development of gastric cancer and hepatocellular growth. URG4 exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms and is located on human chromosome 7, a region associated with various genetic disorders, highlighting URG4′s potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
