UBP 282 is an GluR (AMPA and kainate receptor) antagonist that distinguishes between motoneuron and dorsal root kainate receptors. Inhibits AMPA receptor-, but not kainate receptor-mediated currents on spinal neonatal motoneurons yet antagonizes kainate-induced responses on dorsal root C-fibres. AMPA is a transmembrane glutamate receptor composed of the subunits GluR-1,2,3,4.
