QUICK LINKS

Thionazin, an amber-colored liquid, serves multiple purposes as a soil fungicide, insecticide, and nematicide. Although its pure form appears nearly colorless, the technical product exhibits a light brown to tan hue. Functioning as an organic thiophosphate, Thionazin belongs to the family of organophosphorus derivatives. These derivatives act by binding to and deactivating the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE). By inhibiting AChE, cholinesterase inhibitor pesticides, including Thionazin, allow for the accumulation of significant levels of acetylcholine, resulting in widespread effects.
