    SEE ALSO...

Tastin Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Tastin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tastin (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tastin, also known as trophinin associated protein (TROAP), plays a critical role in maintaining centrosome integrity and ensuring proper bipolar organization of the mitotic spindle during cell division. Tastin localization in the cytoplasm is vital, as Tastin associates with microtubules, the mitotic spindle, and centrosomes, which are essential for accurate chromosome segregation. Tastin expression peaks during the G2/M phase of the cell cycle, highlighting Tastin′s importance in cell proliferation, and declines post-mitosis. Notably, cells that overexpress Tastin tend to form monopolar spindles, while those with depleted levels exhibit multipolar spindles, indicating Tastin′s crucial role in spindle assembly. Tastin also interacts with key proteins such as Dynein light chain (Tctex-1) and γ Tubulin, further underscoring Tastin′s involvement in the dynamics of cell division. Additionally, Tastin forms complexes with Bystin and Trophinin, which are important for cell adhesion and embryo implantation, emphasizing Tastin′s multifaceted role in cellular processes.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Tastin (H-1): sc-373714?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
