QUICK LINKS

Sulfadiazine is a sulfonamide antibiotic closely related to sulfanilamide. Although the exact mechanism of action of sulfadiazine remains incompletely elucidated, it is understood to impede bacterial growth through various means. Sulfadiazine interferes with the production of folic acid, a vital component for bacterial growth, thereby inhibiting their proliferation. Additionally, it disrupts the synthesis of proteins and other essential molecules, further impeding bacterial growth.
