QUICK LINKS

Stearidonic Acid methyl ester is ester version of stearidonic acid, which is a rare polyunsaturated fatty acid of the omega-3 series. It represents less than 0.25% of serum phospholipid fatty acids in normal humans. It is found in some natural oils such as black currant seed and echium. Stearidonic acid methyl ester is less water soluble, but more amenable for the formulation of stearidonate-containing diets and dietary supplements.
