    SEE ALSO...

sMtCK Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects sMtCK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-sMtCK antibody (B-4) is available as the non-conjugated form. sMtCK, a member of the creatine kinase family, plays a crucial role in cellular energy metabolism by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate from phosphocreatine to adenosine diphosphate (ADP), thereby regenerating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in tissues with high and fluctuating energy demands. This function is particularly important in muscle cells, neurons, and other tissues that require rapid ATP replenishment to maintain cellular activities and homeostasis. sMtCK is predominantly located in the mitochondria, where sMtCK is essential for maintaining energy supply during periods of increased metabolic activity. Mitochondrial localization of sMtCK ensures ATP production in close proximity to energy consumption sites, enhancing the efficiency of energy transfer and utilization within cells. By providing localized ATP, sMtCK supports critical processes such as muscle contraction, neurotransmission, and cellular signaling, making sMtCK a key player in overall cellular function and health.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376040 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
