SCGN Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SCGN protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCGN (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCGN protein, also known as Secretagogin, CALBL, setagin, or SECRET, is a 276 amino acid cytoplasmic protein characterized by six EF-hand domains, which are critical for calcium binding and signaling. SCGN is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the stomach, thyroid, colon, brain, and neuroendocrine cells, where SCGN plays a significant role in regulating calcium homeostasis and cellular signaling pathways. SCGN′s ability to modulate calcium storage pools within cells is essential for function in cell proliferation and potassium chloride-mediated calcium flux events. Through influencing these processes, SCGN may serve as a negative regulator of growth and differentiation rates, thereby indirectly inhibiting cell replication. anti-SCGN antibody (F-9) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying the intricate roles of calcium-binding proteins in various biological contexts.
