Ran BP-2 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ran BP-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Ran BP-2 antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ran BP-2 protein, also known as Nup358, plays a crucial role in nucleocytoplasmic transport, acting as a scaffold that interacts with small GTPase Ran, which is essential for RNA and protein transport through nuclear pore complex. This interaction maintains cellular homeostasis by regulating molecular entry and exit during DNA replication and mitosis. Ran BP-2 gene is located in a genomic region on chromosome 2q associated with various genetic disorders, including juvenile nephronophthisis and congenital hepatic fibrosis, highlighting its importance in human health and disease. Four RanBD1 domains within Ran BP-2 protein underscore structural complexity and functional significance by facilitating interaction with Ran-GTPase, enhancing cellular transport mechanisms.
