PIM-1 inhibitor 2 is a potent Pim-1 kinase inhibitor (Ki = 91 nM). Pim-1 is a proto-oncogene serine/threonine-protein kinase Pim-1 that is encoded by the human PIM1 gene. PIM-1 inhibitor 2 interacts with G-protein coupled receptors, such as the serotonin receptor, as well as enzymes, such as cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase. Additionally, it can modulate the activity of various ion channels, such as the potassium and sodium channels. This compound has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-convulsant, anti-depressant, anti-cancer, neuroprotective, cardioprotective, and hepatoprotective activities.
