Nopp140 Antibody (3B4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects Nopp140 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nopp140 is a crucial nucleolar phosphoprotein that plays a significant role in cellular processes by functioning as both a chaperone for the import and export of proteins from the nucleolus and as a transcription factor. Nopp140 was initially identified in rat liver as a nuclear localization signal-binding protein and has since been characterized as an interacting partner of RNA Polymerase, which is essential for the transcription of DNA into RNA. Nopp140′s ability to associate with the general transcription factor TFIIB and the protein kinase casein kinase II (CKII) highlights its importance in the regulation of gene expression, as CKII-mediated phosphorylation of Nopp140 enhances its binding to nuclear localization signals. Furthermore, Nopp140′s colocalization with another nucleolar protein, NAP57, in the nucleolus and coiled bodies suggests its involvement in the intricate activities that occur within these cellular structures, making Nopp140 a vital component in the orchestration of ribosome biogenesis and RNA processing.
