    SEE ALSO...

netrin-5 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects netrin-5 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-netrin-5 antibody (G-12) is available as a non-conjugated format. Netrin-5, also known as NTN5 or netrin-1-like protein, plays a crucial role in the nervous system by providing guidance cues for axonal growth and cell migration during development, which is essential for proper neural network formation. Netrin-5 is secreted and consists of 489 amino acids, existing in two alternatively spliced isoforms. Netrin-5 structure includes three laminin EGF-like domains and one NTR domain, which are vital for interaction with receptors on target cells, facilitating the directional growth of axons. Netrin-5 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 19q13.42, a region known for its high gene density and housing numerous immunoglobulin superfamily members. Netrin-5 signaling pathway is influenced by extracellular calcium levels and protein kinase A (PKA) activity, where a decrease in PKA activity can alter axonal responsiveness to netrin proteins, leading to repulsion instead of attraction. This intricate balance of signaling is critical for the correct wiring of the nervous system, highlighting netrin-5′s importance in developmental biology and potential implications in neurodevelopmental disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514786 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
