NARF Antibody (32-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects NARF protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NARF antibody (32-7) is available as the non-conjugated format. NARF, or nuclear prelamin A recognition factor, is a crucial 456 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in cellular processes, particularly in prelamin A metabolism. NARF protein is predominantly expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, and brain, where NARF binds to the C-terminal end of prenylated prelamin A, suggesting involvement in the assembly of a prelamin A-containing endoprotease complex. NARF interaction with prelamin A is vital for maintaining proper heterochromatin organization, which is essential for gene regulation and chromosomal stability. Additionally, NARF undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation by ATM or ATR in response to DNA damage, highlighting a role in cellular stress responses. Three isoforms of NARF, resulting from alternative splicing, further underscore the complexity and regulatory potential in various biological contexts.
