MYL6B Antibody (YY-06) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects MYL6B protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MYL6B antibody (YY-06) is available as a non-conjugated format. MYL6B, or Myosin light chain 6B, plays a crucial role in regulating contractile activity in smooth muscle and non-muscle myosin complexes. MYL6B is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where MYL6B forms a hexameric structure consisting of four light chains and two heavy chains, which is essential for function in muscle contraction. MYL6B presence in smooth muscle cells is particularly important as MYL6B facilitates interaction with myosin heavy chains, enabling force generation and movement in response to calcium signaling. Notably, while MYL6B contains three EF-hand domains typically associated with calcium binding, MYL6B does not bind calcium during contraction, highlighting a unique regulatory role. MYL6B is expressed in various tissues, with highest levels found in neurons and smooth muscle, underscoring significance in both muscle function and cellular signaling pathways.
