LTBP-4 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects LTBP-4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LTBP-4 antibody (A-2) is available as the non-conjugated form. LTBP-4, or latent TGFβ-binding protein 4, plays a crucial role in regulating transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) signaling, which is essential for various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and tissue repair. LTBP-4 is primarily located in the extracellular matrix, serving as a structural component of connective tissue microfibrils and influencing TGFβ deposition and activation in tissues. This localization enables LTBP-4 to modulate TGFβ availability and activity in the local microenvironment, impacting processes such as wound healing and fibrosis. LTBP-4 exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, adding complexity to function and regulation. Human LTBP-4 gene is located at chromosomal position 19q13.1-19q13.2, with mRNA expressed in various tissues, including heart, aorta, uterus, and small intestine, highlighting importance in diverse physiological contexts.
