LRRFIP1 Antibody (J-14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects LRRFIP1 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LRRFIP1, also known as GCF2, is a 738 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role as a transcriptional repressor, preferentially binding to the GC-rich consensus sequence (5′-AGCCCCCGGCG-3′). This binding is significant as LRRFIP1 may regulate the expression of key growth factors such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and platelet-derived growth factor A (PDGF-A), thereby influencing cellular processes like proliferation and differentiation. Notably, LRRFIP1 is involved in controlling smooth muscle cell proliferation following arterial injury through the repression of PDGF-A, highlighting LRRFIP1′s importance in vascular biology and potential implications in cardiovascular diseases. LRRFIP1′s N-terminus exhibits high homology to the coiled-coil domain of FLAP, which interacts with the leucine-rich repeat (LRR) of Flightless I, suggesting a functional link between LRRFIP1 and the actin cytoskeleton. Furthermore, LRRFIP1′s ability to bind double-stranded RNA with high affinity, while showing weak binding to double-stranded DNA, underscores LRRFIP1′s potential role in RNA metabolism and regulation within mammalian cells. The identification of the RNA binding domain, characterized by a lysine-rich motif, further emphasizes LRRFIP1′s multifaceted functions in cellular processes.
