Imidocarb is a man-made, water-soluble carbamate insecticide designed for managing ectoparasites. The compound has been a subject of considerable scientific investigation, especially within entomology, parasitology, and veterinary medicine domains. It′s been studied in relation to managing various insect pests, inclusive of fleas, ticks, and lice. Additionally, it has been utilized in laboratory studies to explore the action mechanism of carbamate insecticides, and to assess the effectiveness of various insecticides against a range of insect pests. Imidocarb functions as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, impeding the decomposition of acetylcholine, which leads to an accumulation of acetylcholine in the insect′s nervous system. This accumulation results in prolonged nervous system stimulation, causing paralysis and ultimately the insect′s death.
