Hox11 Antibody (1D7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Hox11 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Hox11 (1D7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hox11 protein, a member of the homeobox gene family, plays a crucial role in embryonic development and cellular differentiation by regulating downstream target gene expression. Hox11 functions as a DNA-binding nuclear transcription factor, essential for proper spleen formation and other splanchnic derivatives during embryogenesis. Hox11 gene is located on chromosome 10q24 in humans and is classified as an orphan homeobox gene due to position outside the four mammalian Hox clusters. Hox11′s significance is underscored by involvement in chromosomal translocation t(7;10)(q24;q11), associated with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). This translocation occurs between Hox11 gene and T-cell receptor delta-chain gene, resulting from abnormal recombinational events during early T-cell development. While Hox11-deficient mice exhibit complete absence of spleen, other splanchnic derivatives develop normally, indicating Hox11′s specific role in spleen formation. Spleen development in deficient mice initiates normally but fails at a critical embryonic stage when spleen anlage is fully absorbed, highlighting Hox11′s importance in organogenesis.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-12760 X be used instead of the standard form sc-12760?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
