Gemin3 Antibody (2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Gemin3 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. Gemin3, also known as DP103, DDX20, and DEAD-box protein DP130, is a crucial component of the survival of motor neuron (SMN) complex, which is essential for the assembly of spliceosomal small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs) in the cytoplasm and their subsequent role in pre-mRNA splicing within the nucleus. Gemin3 is located in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus, with a significant concentration in subnuclear structures known as gems, which are vital for proper RNA processing. Gemin3′s presence in these cellular compartments underscores its importance in maintaining RNA metabolism and gene expression regulation. Additionally, Gemin3 interacts with several other proteins, including SmB, SmD2, and SmD3, and possesses ATPase activity, indicating a potential role as a putative RNA helicase. Gemin3 expression is observed in various tissues, including B and T cell neuroblastoma-derived cell lines, malignant melanoma, and normal testis, while showing lower levels in colon, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, and lung tissues. Anti-Gemin3 antibody (2) effectively targets this essential protein, making Gemin3 (2) monoclonal antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying molecular mechanisms underlying spinal muscular atrophy and other related disorders.
