FSL-1 (Pam2CGDPKHPKSF) is a synthetic lipoprotein that represents the N-terminal part of the 44kDa lipoprotein LP44 of Mycoplasma salivarium. It is also a stimulator of TLR2/TLR6, an inducer of TNF-alpha production in macrophages, upregulator proinflammatory cytokines, and an activator of the proinflammatory transcription factor NF-kappaB. FSL-1 also referred to as a synthetic lipoprotein particle(SLP), is an artificial lipoprotein designed to mimic the structure and function of lipoproteins found in the human body. Comprising a phospholipid bilayer and a cholesterol ester, FSL-1 serves as useful in scientific investigations focused on understanding lipoproteins.
