SEE ALSO...

FLIPS/L Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FLIPS/L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. FLIPS/L monoclonal antibody (G-11) is offered in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FLIP protein, which exists in both long and short forms, plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis, a vital process for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. The short form of FLIP features two death effector domains that are homologous to those found in the FAS-associating protein FADD, while the long form shares significant homology with the cysteine protease FLICE and includes an additional caspase-like domain. The long form lacks a catalytic active site and the necessary residues for substrate binding, which distinguishes FLIP from typical caspases. FLIP has been identified by various names, including Casper, I-FLICE, CLARP, FLAME-1, and MRIT, and while its precise function is still under investigation, FLIP is recognized as a key regulator of apoptosis downstream of all known death receptors, highlighting its importance in cellular signaling pathways and potential implications in cancer research and therapeutic interventions.
