    DBH Antibody (8.F.304) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects dopamine beta-hydroxylase (DBH) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). DBH plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of catecholamines by catalyzing the conversion of dopamine to noradrenaline, which is essential for various physiological processes, including the regulation of mood, attention, and the body′s response to stress. DBH is predominantly expressed in noradrenergic and adrenergic neurons, as well as in neuroendocrine cells, making DBH a specific marker for noradrenergic activity. The active form of DBH is a homotetramer located in the lumen of synaptic vesicles, where DBH associates with both the membrane and cytosol, highlighting DBH′s importance in neurotransmitter storage and release. Additionally, DBH expression is influenced by nerve growth factor and insulin growth factor-1, and DBH is regulated by intracellular signaling pathways involving protein kinase A, cyclic AMP, diacylglycerol, and calcium ions. Transcriptional regulation of DBH is mediated by key proteins such as Sp1, CREB, and AP-1 family members, including c-Fos, c-Jun, and JunD, underscoring the complexity of DBH expression control.
