QUICK LINKS

Cyamemazine is a phenothiazine derivative which functions as a D2DR (dopamine D2 receptor) antagonist. Studies also indicate that Cyamemazine strongly antagonizes the 5-HT3 and SR-2C (5-HT2C) serotonin receptors. It is known that Cyamemazine functions as an alpha1 -adrenergic, H1, and mACh antagonist. Alternate studies indicate that Cyamemazine increases phototoxicity and lipid membrane peroxidation in cells and lysosomes. Cyamemazine can be detected in solution with a maximum absorbance of 267 nm. Furthermore, it is believed that Cyamemazine can inhibit the 9-hydroxylation of risperidone (sc-204881) and possibly an inhibitor of CYP2D6 (cytochrome P450 2D6).
