CREG Antibody (30R) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CREG protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CREG antibody (30R) is available as the non-conjugated format. CREG protein, known as the cellular repressor of E1A-stimulated genes, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and cellular differentiation, particularly in the context of adenoviral infection. CREG protein functions by antagonizing the transcriptional activation and cellular transformation induced by the adenovirus E1A protein, which both activates and represses gene expression to promote cellular proliferation. CREG protein′s ability to bind to the TATA-binding protein, TBP, was initially identified through a yeast two-hybrid screen, highlighting CREG′s importance in transcriptional regulation. CREG protein contains binding sites for E2F, a pivotal transcriptional regulator of cell cycle progression, which are essential for repressive action on the adenovirus E2 promoter. This interaction underscores CREG′s role in inhibiting E2F-mediated activation, thereby contributing to the control of cell growth and differentiation. CREG protein is a secreted glycoprotein broadly expressed in adult tissues and regulated during embryonic development, enhancing the differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells and human NTERA-2 cells. CREG protein′s activity may be vital for the transcriptional control of cellular processes, making anti-CREG antibody (30R) an important tool for researchers studying gene regulation and cellular differentiation in human tissues.

Can sc-100695: CREG (30R) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100695: CREG (30R) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
