SEE ALSO...

Cementum attachment protein Antibody (3G9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cementum attachment protein in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-cementum attachment protein antibody (3G9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cementum attachment protein, also known as CAP, is a collagenous protein predominantly found in the matrix of tooth cementum, where CAP plays a crucial role in dental health by binding with high affinity to non-demineralized root surfaces, hydroxyapatite, and fibronectin. This binding is essential for promoting mesenchymal cell attachment, which is vital for cementogenesis—the process of forming cementum, a calcified tissue covering tooth roots. Cementum attachment protein is implicated in periodontal homeostasis and wound healing, as CAP can recruit putative cementoblastic populations on root slices in vitro. Notably, integrin α5β1 mediates periodontal-derived cell attachment, such as human gingival fibroblasts and human periodontal ligament fibroblasts, to cementum attachment protein, highlighting CAP′s importance in periodontal tissue integrity and repair.

Can I use cementum attachment protein Antibody (3G9): sc-53947  to do flow cytometry? And what concentration should I use? Do I also need a second antibody? Thank you!

Asked by: chenghuang
Thank you for your inquiry. This antibody, sc-53947,cementum attachment protein (3G9), has not been tested for Flow cytometry, so we are unable to recommend it for that use. Here is a link to our recommended protocol if you would like to try it: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/flow-cytometry We do offer a sample of this antibody, so if you would like to try a sample of it, please contact our European Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at Toll Free: +49 6221 4503 0, by email at: europe@scbt.com or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com, and they would be happy to send you a sample!

I am using cementum attachment protein (3G9): sc-53947 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
