QUICK LINKS

(+)-5-trans Cloprostenol is a derivative of prostaglandin F2α that has been used as a luteolytic agent for the induction of estrus in animal models and can induce uterin contraction. Although the compound has effectiveness the trans isomer is still 20 times less effective than the cis-isomer during reproductive termination in the hamster model. In a muscle contraction study (+)-5-trans Cloprostenol elicited contraction to horse arterial preparations.
