4-Chlorophenyl Chloroformate is a highly effective chlorinating agent known to increase the intracellular levels of carbon sources. Shown to act selectively on the phenyl group of histidine and amines. This compound can be used as a synthetic intermediate in the production of various compounds, including antidiabetic agents. Additionally, 4-Chlorophenyl Chloroformate has been used in the preparation of N-hydroxy-N-methylcarbamate 4-chlorophenyl ester.
