2-Iminobiotin is a reversible inhibitor of mouse NOS2 (iNOS) and rat NOS1 (nNOS). 2-Iminobiotin, a reactive molecule, has been used as an experimental model for studying protein synthesis and energy metabolism. It is a modified form of biotin. It binds to specific proteins, including enzymes, effectively functioning as an inhibitor. This inhibitory property can be used to study their structure and function. Moreover, the applications of 2-iminobiotin extend to the exploration of protein interactions with DNA and RNA.
