Tropomodulin 3 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects tropomodulin 3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-tropomodulin 3 antibody (F-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The tropomodulin family of proteins, originally isolated from human erythrocytes, plays a crucial role in capping the pointed ends of actin filaments, thereby regulating actin dynamics essential for cellular structure and function. Specifically, tropomodulin 3 is known for ubiquitous expression across various tissues, which is vital for maintaining cytoskeleton integrity in diverse cell types. Tropomodulin 3 interacts with tropomyosin, a key regulator of actin filament stability, preventing both elongation and depolymerization of actin filaments, which is critical for processes such as cell motility, division, and maintaining cell shape. The human TMOD3 gene, located on chromosome 15q21.2, encodes a 352 amino acid protein and expresses seven different transcripts, highlighting complex regulation and functional significance. In mouse models, Tmod3 expression begins as early as day 7 of embryonic development, indicating importance in early cellular development and differentiation.
