Datasheets
  • SURF-1 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 81-250 mapping near the C-terminus of SURF-1 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of SURF-1 of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • TransCruz reagent for ChIP application (sc-137037 X, 200 µg/0.1 ml)
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2b BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for SURF-1 Antibody (E-7) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with SURF-1 Antibody (E-7) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

SURF-1 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b light chain antibody that detects SURF-1 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SURF-1 plays a crucial role in the assembly of complex IV (cytochrome c oxidase) of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, which is essential for cellular respiration and energy production. Located in the inner mitochondrial membrane, SURF-1 is integral to the proper functioning of mitochondria, and mutations in the SURF-1 gene can lead to severe consequences, such as cytochrome c oxidase complex IV deficiency. This deficiency is associated with Leigh syndrome, a devastating neurological disorder characterized by rapid progression of encephalopathy and necrotic lesions in subcortical brain regions. The impact of SURF-1 mutations extends beyond neurological symptoms, as mutations are also linked to significant deficits in muscle strength and motor performance, particularly affecting skeletal muscle and liver function. Furthermore, individuals with SURF-1 mutations often exhibit morphological abnormalities in the heart, brain, and skeletal muscle, underscoring SURF-1′s critical role in maintaining mitochondrial integrity and overall cellular health.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-137037 X be used instead of the standard form sc-137037?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
