SR-2A Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SR-2A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SR-2A antibody (A-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SR-2A, also known as 5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 2A, is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family and plays a crucial role in mediating serotonin effects, a key neurotransmitter involved in numerous physiological processes. Located primarily in the central nervous system, gut, and platelets, SR-2A (A-4) monoclonal antibody targets a protein essential for regulating mood, anxiety, appetite, and sleep, as well as influencing cardiovascular function and gastrointestinal motility. SR-2A interacts with various signaling pathways, activating phospholipase C and leading to intracellular calcium stores release, which is vital for smooth muscle contraction and other cellular responses. Dysregulation of SR-2A has been implicated in several psychiatric disorders, including depression and schizophrenia, highlighting SR-2A′s significance in both neurological health and disease.
