Rtn-1C Antibody (4A71) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rtn-1C protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Rtn-1C antibody (4A71) is available as a non-conjugated format. The Reticulon (Rtn) family, which includes Rtn-1, Rtn-2, Rtn-3, and Nogo, plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Rtn-1C anchors to the ER membrane through its C-terminal region, which is essential for maintaining ER integrity and facilitating proper protein folding and trafficking. Rtn-1C is predominantly expressed in neural and neuroendocrine tissues, where Rtn-1C contributes to neuroendocrine secretion and membrane dynamics. Notably, Rtn-1C expression strongly associates with neuronal differentiation, making Rtn-1C a valuable marker in studies of neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, the gene encoding Rtn-1 is located on human chromosome 14q23.1 and expresses as three isoforms—Rtn-1A, Rtn-1B, and Rtn-1C—through alternative splicing, highlighting the complexity and functional diversity of the Reticulon family in cellular processes.
