Datasheets
  • rabphilin-3A Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal mouse IgM κ κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 499-533 within an internal region of rabphilin-3A of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of rabphilin-3A of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for rabphilin-3A Antibody (E-3) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with rabphilin-3A Antibody (E-3) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

    SEE ALSO...

Rabphilin-3A Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects rabphilin-3A in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rabphilin-3A plays a crucial role in the regulation of calcium-dependent exocytosis, a vital process for neurotransmitter release and hormone secretion in neuroendocrine cells. Rabphilin-3A is primarily located on synaptic vesicles and chromaffin granules, where rabphilin-3A co-localizes with Rab3A, a known regulator of exocytosis. The interaction between rabphilin-3A and Rab3A is particularly interesting, as rabphilin-3A acts as a positive regulator of exocytosis, while Rab3A serves as a negative regulator, suggesting a complex interplay that finely tunes the exocytotic process. The presence of two C2 domains in the carboxy-terminal region of rabphilin-3A allows binding to calcium ions and phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, which are essential for function in exocytosis. Additionally, rabphilin-3A binds to Rab3A in a GTP/Mg2+ dependent manner, highlighting importance in the signaling pathways that govern vesicle trafficking and release. The unique structural features and interactions of rabphilin-3A underscore significance in cellular communication and potential implications in neuroendocrine disorders when dysregulated.
