ONO-RS-082 has been shown to be a potent PLA2 (phospholipase A2) and epinephrine inhibitor. More specifically this compound has been reported to inhibit epinephrine-stimulated thromboxane production in human platelets. Studies also suggest that this agent inhibits substance P induced histamine release from peritoneal mast cells. Additionally, ONO-RS-082 displays the ability to arrest membrane tubule-mediated events that occur late in the assembly of the Golgi complex and block the formation of membrane tubules from Golgi stacks in an in vitro reconstitution system.
