KIF9 Antibody (4E9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KIF9 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KIF9 antibody (4E9) is available as the non-conjugated format. KIF9, a member of the kinesin family, is a vital cytoskeletal motor protein that plays a significant role in intracellular transport and cell division. This 790 amino acid protein is characterized by its kinesin-motor domain and exists in two isoforms, with expression levels that are developmentally regulated across various tissues, including the brain, kidney, spleen, lung, and testis. KIF9 maintains the connection between the microtubule organizing center (MTOC) and the nucleus during interphase, which is crucial for proper cell division and organization. KIF9 interacts with the protein Gem, potentially linking to the cytoskeleton and facilitating its role in transporting organelles and vesicles within the cell. Additionally, KIF9 may function as a plus-ended microtubule motor, possibly existing as a homodimer, which underscores its importance in cellular dynamics and the maintenance of cellular architecture.
